Stepping into "THE ROOM"

Stepping into "THE ROOM"

Daniel Lewis

This weekend I did something that, honestly, I nearly didn’t. I was booked into a men’s group training day - breathwork, meditation, visualisation, active imagination, mindset work...the whole lot.

On paper it sounded incredible. But the moment I got to the door, nerves hit me like a wall. I stood there thinking, “I don’t belong here? What if I stand out like a sore thumb? What if everyone else is way ahead of me?”

For a split second, I almost turned around and went home.

But I didn’t...I pushed through the fear, walked inside, and it turned out to be one of the most powerful experiences I’ve had in years.

We went deep. Focused breathing, visualisation, silent meditation, and opening up through mindset work. I connected with a group of strong, motivated men - men who challenged me, supported me, and reminded me that I’m not alone on this journey.

By the end of the day, I wasn’t just learning techniques. I was building friendships. I was part of something.

And here’s the lesson: growth ALWAYS sits on the other side of resistance. Fear will try to keep you in the same place, safe and comfortable, but it also keeps you stuck. The moment you lean into that discomfort, life expands.

That’s where breakthroughs happen.

Walking into that room fired me up. It reminded me why I started Engineered Thinking in the first place. Because men need spaces like this - spaces where they can be challenged, supported, and pushed to grow.

The value I got that day is the same value I’m determined to give back to the men in my group.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, if you’ve been hesitating to take the next step, let this be your reminder: don’t walk away at the door. Push through. Step into the room. Your growth is waiting there.
